What is the Nathan Latifi Memorial Scholarship Fund?

It is a nonprofit established to both honor the legacy of a beautiful young man and do it by encouraging young people to value positive interactions with others while supporting their educational pursuits.  It's one of life's great lessons.

Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?

Any current Glen Ridge High School senior.

How do I apply for the scholarship?

Send an email with your full name in the subject line.  The email needs to contain one of the following: 1-5 lines of text, a linked or attached image, a link to a video or document a random act of kindness.  The content must be original and create a smile or laughter for the reader or viewer.  The email must be sent to submissions@rememberingnathan.org

What is the deadline for submission?

Submissions must be sent by May 28 @11:59PM ET.

How much is the scholarship award?

The scholarship is intended to be annual and 2025 award is $4000.

When and where will the scholarship be announced?

Drawing and announcement will be live streamed on May 29th. Successful submissions will get a link before the live stream. Winner will be notified via email. 

Can I submit multiple entries for the scholarship?

No, only one entry per person please.  But there are other scholarships you can apply to as well.  Check here:

How can I contribute to the scholarship fund?

You can pay via Credit/Debit, Paypal or Venmo on the bottom of the Contribute page. 

Are donations to the scholarship fund tax deductible?

Yes! The fund is now a registered nonprofit and has 501(c)(3) status with the IRS.  

What other initiatives does the fund support?

Nathan loved summer camp sessions at Frost Valley YMCA.  The fund contributes to a program at this camp to pay camp fees for lower income kids for whom the full charge is a challenge for their families.
