Everything about this scholarship is what we know Nathan would value.  It very intentionally looks to be inclusive and perhaps draw you into thinking about being kind, while having fun.  

To apply you need to be a current senior at Glen Ridge High School.  Your application is just an email to the address below.  Include your full name in the subject line.  Write one to five lines in the body of the email, or send an image/video link or a documented random act of kindness (thanks Miles for the inspiration) that would cause the reader to smile or laugh.  Anything works, be original, and be kind. 😊 

Then hit send!  As long as your submission creates a smile or chuckle, your name will be entered into a drawing.  The winner will be chosen on a live-stream the evening before the scholarship announcement ceremony.  Deadline for submissions is May 28 @11:59PM ET.

Only one submission per person.  No double dipping.

Nathan liked to have fun and appreciated the magic of chance.  He'd love the excitement and anticipation building among friends and teachers alike.  All of it stemming from simple submissions of something funny, a smile-worthy kindness or a goofy, fun three line story, even a poem or wacky video!

He'd want it to be fun and an experience to treasure.  And most of all, involve as many young people as possible in a celebration of possibilities, love and fun that all participants can take with them going forward!

Yes.  If your submission is successful, you'll get an email reply with a drawing number.  The live drawing will be on May 29th 2025.  Candidates will get a link to the stream earlier that week. The winner must attend the Scholarship Awards Assembly held on May 30th, beginning at 8:15 AM to accept the award.
